Business Development Manager — Robotics & Automation

The role

Forge Robotics is an early-stage UK venture bringing humanoid, quadruped and specialist robots from leading overseas manufacturers to UK businesses through demonstrations, trials, pilot programmes and Robotics-as-a-Service.

As our first dedicated commercial hire you will build and own the sales engine: identifying UK businesses with automation-shaped problems, scoping trials and pilots with our engineers, and converting demonstrations into paid programmes and RaaS contracts. You will shape the commercial playbook rather than inherit one.

What you will do

• Build pipeline across manufacturing, logistics, facilities, construction, security and the public sector
• Run discovery, site visits and demonstrations alongside our engineers
• Scope and close robot trials, pilot programmes and Robotics-as-a-Service agreements
• Help customers navigate grant funding where suitable
• Feed market insight back into robot selection and manufacturer partnerships
• Define the CRM, messaging and sales process for the team that follows you

What we are looking for

• B2B sales experience with a technical or capital-equipment product — robotics, automation, machinery, industrial technology or SaaS into operations buyers
• Consultative style: comfortable selling an emerging category to operations, engineering and C-suite stakeholders
• Track record of building pipeline from scratch — hunter rather than farmer
• Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage pace
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel UK-wide
